Welcome to the website of Scarlet Opera. On this website you'll find information about us, upcoming and past productions, and information on how to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at one of our future productions!
Scarlet Opera was created by Mezzo Soprano Jodie Kearns, and Soprano Siobhan Blake with specific aims in mind. We want to produce high quality opera in which acting and drama are every bit as vital as the music, and given as much work and consideration in all stages of rehearsal, production and performance. We will strive to provide more opportunities for people who love opera and want to be a part of it: students, up-and-coming performers, artists, directors, producers, teachers and theatre artisans. And along with drawing established opera lovers, we hope to entice new audiences to the world of opera, especially people who already love film and theatre but haven't tried opera before.
CURRENT PRODUCTION
Scarlet Opera will be performing a fully staged production of Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice' written in 1762. Performances will be at The Bridewell Theatre London, on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th of September 2009 at 7.30pm. There will also be a matinee performance on Saturday the 5th September at 2.30pm.
